🌹 Climbing Roses Showdown! Hanxian VS Juliet 🌸
I recently picked up two beautiful climbing roses — Hanxian and Juliet — and thought I’d do a little side-by-side review to help you decide if they’re worth adding to your collection.
✨ Hanxian (Climbing Rose)
-
Pros: Vigorous growth with long, flexible canes that create a wild, romantic look. Perfect for archways, pergolas, or garden walls.
-
Cons: Blooms are on the smaller side and the canes are covered with thorns, which makes pruning and training a bit of a hassle.
-
Best for: Gardeners with a yard or large outdoor space where the plant can grow freely. Not ideal for balconies due to size and maintenance.
☀️ Juliet (The Golden Beauty)
-
Pros: Huge, golden blooms that shine like little suns — absolutely breathtaking. Less thorny compared to Hansian, which makes care much easier.
-
Cons: Doesn’t have the same “climbing freedom” vibe as Hansian, but for small spaces that’s actually an advantage.
-
Best for: Balcony or patio growers. Juliet makes a stunning statement piece with her large, radiant flowers.
🌿 Final Verdict
-
For yards and garden arches → Hansian is the better choice.
-
For balconies or terraces → Juliet wins with her showy blooms and easier maintenance
💡 My personal take: If you already own Juliet, you probably don’t need Hansian unless you have a large garden. Juliet is gorgeous, low-maintenance, and perfect for small spaces. Hansian shines in bigger landscapes but can be tricky to manage in tight spots.
