Healthy Growth with a Potential Mosaic Virus Issue

* Order, Shipping & Delivery Timing
I placed the order on October 22, and it was delivered on October 29—exactly one week later. The rose plants arrived well packaged, which I appreciated. However, I chose to wait a few months before writing a review so I could observe how the plants grew and provide feedback that more accurately reflects their condition.

* Initial Concerns: Appearance and Size and a Suggestion
When I received the plants, their overall condition didn’t quite match the photos on the website. In their website pictures, the roses had plenty of white roots and leafy growth. I understand that leaves are often trimmed for fall shipping, which is reasonable. But the roots raised concern—there were barely any visible white roots, just a few short, black-brown ones that didn’t look strong at the time (see my photos attached).

On top of that, while the plants matched the height shown in the website photos, they were about the same size as my own mini rose that’s under a year old. This made me wonder whether they were actually two years old or simply not well cared for before shipping.

* Healthy Growth and a Suggestion
Thankfully, the roses are now growing very vigorously, which shows they were healthy after all, except that this one may be infected by mosaic virus. Still, at the time of delivery, I was genuinely worried about whether they would survive. I think the website could be clearer about how the plants might look upon arrival, so customers can set more accurate expectations.

* Thoughtful Bonus Plants
I ordered five roses, and the seller included two bonus plants for free, which was a wonderful surprise. What impressed me even more was that these extra roses weren’t just random selections—they matched the general type and qualities of the ones I had chosen. It felt like a thoughtful gesture, and I genuinely like the additional plants they sent.

* Health Concerns: Mosaic Virus
Out of the seven roses I received, two of them—including this one—seem to have signs of mosaic virus. At first, I thought the discolored patches on the leaves might be due to a nutrient deficiency, but that seems unlikely. All my roses—over 40 in total—are watered and fertilized the same way, and only these two are showing this kind of discoloration. So it’s very likely to be mosaic virus, which is disappointing, especially considering the price.That said, the plant still looks healthy overall and is flowering well.

* Fragrance and color
As for the fragrance, this cultivar is supposed to be highly fragrant, but in my experience, it’s only lightly scented—with just a hint of citrus.
One thing I do really appreciate is the color. This rose is the closest I’ve seen to a true purple: the buds start out looking quite pink, but as the flowers open, the color cools and shifts toward a more purplish tone, which I find beautiful.
