Elegant shallow cup-shaped, typical Austin flower shape, blooming in clusters. Zhongxiang, a complex aroma of old roses, raspberries, lemons, and a hint of myrrh, with rich layers, is known as the embodiment of summer. Rain resistant. Good heat resistance, the flowers can still maintain the standard under high temperatures in summer. The plant has a compact shape, strong branching ability, robust branches, fewer thorns, and a natural shrub like appearance. It has excellent disease resistance and strong resistance to black spot disease and powdery mildew. The name comes from the British novelist Penelope Lively, who is an important figure in post World War II British literature and has won the Booker Prize (1987) for "Honey of the Moon" and the Carnegie Medal (Children's Literature). David Austin Breeding Company chose this name because Cafli's memoir "Life in the Garden" mentions David Austin Sr. (the founder of the company) and regards the garden as a carrier of memory and stories. The color gradient and fragrance of this rose also symbolize the theme of "changing over time" in her works. Lefley himself was pleasantly surprised by this naming and plans to plant it in his own small garden.
